About the event
‘How To Heat Your Home, Not The Planet’
Everyone knows we are facing a climate emergency and we need to act now – but what exactly does that mean for most people? We’ve all changed our lightbulbs to LEDs, but the rest of it seems expensive, disruptive and risky.
So, if you want to do something about your carbon emissions, but you don’t know where to start, this talk is for you.
Four experts will talk you through the ins and outs of solar PV, heat pumps and energy efficiency for the home, as well as provide you with a glimpse of a possible decarbonised future in a community like Speen.
Local homeowners who have travelled the renewable energy road already will share their experiences, with tips on pitfalls to avoid and why it has been so worth it in the end.
There’ll be opportunities to ask questions after each talk, and catch up with our experts to discuss your options over a pint during the interval, as the Festival Bar will be avaliable.
Organised by Speen Environmental Action Group (SEAG) with speakers from: Buckinghamshire Community Energy, the Microgeneration Certification Scheme, Meld Energy, and Next Generation Renewable Energy.
