COVID-19 Measures

Precautions have been put in place to protect attendees, volunteers, organisers and panellists. While we will not be policing these measures, we ask that you please take responsibility for your own and others' health before attending each event.

Speen Festival is a community event, and we want everyone to feel safe at the Festival. Those organising the Festival know that there are different ideas on how best to do this, but believe this approach will work best to protect all festival participants, performers, volunteers and audience members:

  • Please take a lateral flow test on the day of the event before you attend, whether you are a performer, a volunteer or an audience member.

  • If this test is positive or you have symptoms of COVID-19, please do not attend; we will refund your ticket if you tell us before the event.

  • Capacity at indoor events has been reduced to 80% of maximum.

  • We would prefer you to wear a face covering at indoor events.

  • Please maintain a respectful distance from others.

  • Sanitiser is readily available for use throughout the festival sites.

  • We will be maximising the ventilation at indoor venues. The marquee will have some sidewalls removed and will not be heated. The chapel will have all windows open and the ventilation system on. Please dress warmly because venues will be cooler than usual.

  • We will only be accepting card payments, no cash, at the bar and for tickets at the door. As well as reducing infection risk, this is quicker and safer for our volunteers.

  • At the door, we will only sell tickets to the event about to start. Tickets to other events will be available at the online box office.
