What's your reason to volunteer?

People who have helped with the Festival in the past have expressed many different reasons for doing so and in return have gained a range of benefits. Which one works for you?

  • Use existing skills to help my community
  • Give something back
  • Gain new skills
  • Build a portfolio
  • Get some charity work on my CV
  • Find some like minds
  • Do something cross-generational
  • Pass on some skills
  • Do community work for Duke of Edinburgh's
  • Meet new people
  • Use my time before going to University
  • Network for a new job

We've still got some big gaps in the team for this year so if you are interested in any of the roles below sign up in Speen Stores or email

Marketing We have tickets to sell and only a few weeks left to sell them. Can you help spread the word? Like us on facebook, share with your friends, put up some posters, get everyone talking about our little Festival.
Show Support We need additional volunteers to support our Railway Children Show - chaperones/make up/dressers.
Help wanted moving chairs before, during and after the Festival.
Heavy Lifting We need people with brawn and muscle to help us with heavy lifting at various points - especially on Saturday 29 August and Monday 21 September.
Car Park Stewarding A really important role and you get to wear fab jackets and meet and greet the great and the good.
Ushering The key to a good performance: kind and friendly ushers who ensure the audience is happily seated and safe
Box Office Unflappable and speedy and the ability to give the correct change is all we ask for here!
Bar Staff Some of the events will have their own bar or are offering wine, so event organisers may need people to help serve and take money
Ice Cream selling What is there not to like? We will have a stock of ice cream to sell, so you need to know where it is and how much it costs. And for the Railway Children you even get the chance to dress up...
Qualified First Aiders Your free ticket into every event.
