Speen Festival 2009
Cabaret Supper

The supper sold out almost immediately: those in the know obviously knew! Kate and Sam had not breathed a word about the evening, nothing, not who would perform or what they would do. As it turned out, the evening provided a varied programme from opera to pop, comedy sketches to classical music, a treat for the ears, a workout for the brain and healthy exercise for your laughing gear.

The food was a treat, catered by the King William IV and the waiting staff were the best ever: Gordon Ramsay could not have faulted them. The marquee was beautifully dressed in blues and silver with twinkling lights, flowers and stars, the whole decorative and foody side organised impeccably by the hard working and imaginative Judith Newenham and her sidekicks.

Thanks to one and all for making the cabaret supper a truly memorable and joyous occasion and a fitting finale to this year's Festival.
